Thanks. I looked on Uminho and it says the mom is Goulart which I can see
the G and T in the marriage record. For the Dad on uminho it says Francisco
Dutra da Rosa, but it does not look like da Rosa in the marriage record at
all to me. So I'm not sure what to make of it.
What do you mean by

I'm not completely sure on this, but this is what I think it is:
31 Jan 1777
Groom: José Dutra da Andrade, son of Manuel Dutra da Andrade and his wife
Theresa Rosa da Silveira (Silv.ra)
Bride: Ignacia Maria da Silveira (Silv.ra), daughter of Francisco Dutra de
Leyte and his second (seg.da) wife
Yes, 3rd degree is 2nd cousins. I may have said it backwards earlier today.

If a couple is related in some way, they need to apply for a dispensation.
The two ways to be related are by consanguinity (blood) or by affinity
(your spouse dies, so you marry their brother or sister, i.e. the in-law).
1st degree: Rather rare. Uncle - niece, aunt-nephew. I think there's some

The bride's parents are deceased. I can't figure out the names either.
Maybe when the sun comes out I can see the screen better.
I think it says the bride and groom were baptized at that parish.
3rd degree of consanguinity. So 4th cousins. IF the dispensation still
exists (some

Hi Maria Elena,
The groom's father is Joam da Fonte de Morais. The priest's name is Antonio
de Morais Mello.
The bride's name look like your guess, but i'm not sure.

I think this is as far back as I can go and found a new last name in the tree.
Is the groom's father Joao de Fontes de Morais (?) ( noticed the Morais seems
to b the priest's name too.). I never know if that Fontes name could be Pontes.
Is the bride's parents Gabriel de Almada and Maria de
Um, Maria Elena, you forgot to mention the names of the bride and groom,

I'd like to make the bride's dad a Silveira, but the abbreviation just
doesn't look right. As for the bride's mom, I lean towards Maria Goncalves
(Gl...), but the hook from the line below is reaching up and I can't be
certain if it belongs to the name or the line below. Looks like a raised
