Thanks for your help. I figured that they were seperated. I also have
another record for them that seems to list Rufino as "imigrado"

I am guessing he immigrated
Hermano,
I would love to see your information on Dionisio's and Catarina's other
children. I believe we established before that we have José de Frias Bode as a
common ancestor. I'm wondering whether Ana's line connects with Domingos's
further down. Many thanks.

I wish I was going! You learn everything you can about DNA…you are the
expert there for our family!;) I had Shane tested and it’s being processed
right now. Also getting both my daughter-in-laws done as well. They aren’t
Portuguese but will be fun to see their DNA too.;) Have fun and
Is anyone else having problems with the CCA site? I can occasionally access
it, but after a bit of time it stops working usually with a message saying
the server timed out. then it takes a couple of hours before I can access
it again. Is there another way, beside the tombo.pt to access these
Hi Shirley! How are you doing - I remember we are practically "neighbors"
since I live in Truckee most of the year..
I have never "heard" of any sibs for grandfather Mello or grandmother Maria - I
just remember hearing snips of conversations between my Mom and Dad about his
youth -
1.
I get that "time out" message a lot, specially on weekends

There is a Manuel de Mello listed as 794 (?) hard to read #'s. Medeiros was my
grandmother's maiden name. #815 I think would have made him too old if he was
born in 1866. Supposedly he was only 15 when he went to Hawaii.
I found a "stowaway" on a ship in 1881 for a Manuel Mello - no other
Yes, try through the Tombo site. It's a slow server and may not be able to
handle a lot of requests at same time.

It doesn't matter if you go through Tombo.pt or directly to the CCA at:
http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/ig/

They're having extreme weather. Terceira, Sao Miguel and Santa Maria have
been under torrential rain causing land slides and floods. In S. Miguel
alone there are 52 incidents with families being reallocated for safety
reason. This may have some bearing on accessing their server.
