I know that FamilySearch also has Brazilian immigration/passport records.
They recently sent me a couple of matches with information for relatives
that had immigrated to Brazil that I didn't know anything about.

I'm going to try her suggestions tomorrow when I'm at the FHC to work. I
know that I have tried it before and couldn't get into the database. Also,
the woman I spoke with at Salt Lake City Family History Library also told
me that I couldn't get into the database, only those with an LDS
membership.
You can download images from CCA and edit them in Photoshop. The downloaded
images are .jpg files.

Thanks LaRonda and Ken - when I think I have a record with the right name,
I do download it so I can play with the contrast. About to start 1862
trying to find my great grandmother

Philippe: Your books sound interesting as there are two names that are also in
my background. Rodrigues and Andrade. Mine were Jewish and fled to England.
Any relationships?- Shirl -

Elaine,
I subscribe to the full plan of MyHeritage. There are many church records
from other countries available on the drop down list under the research
field in the menu, but I do not see any from the Azores. Just letting you
know I looked.

I started on My Heritage about 7 months ago and have not found any Azores
records so far. On the old handwriten records, I downloaded Photoshop Exress
which lets you make abjustments to the JPEG file to make the records readable.
