[AZORES-Genealogy] my great grand mother
My great grand mothers Petition for Naturalization says that she came to this Country on February 2, 1891 aboard the Vessel Olinda to New York. She used the name Violanti Ferreira. I can not find the ships manifest as I am curious who she came with as she would have been 16 years old. Can anyone help me find this ships passenger list. Hello group members: Wondering if someone can help me. I am trying to tie in a family group and can not find the records of siblings. Either I am missing something or looking in the wrong places. I am just learning to read the records and have to admit I have a hard time. I am looking for the birth records for three brothers in the parish of Sao Jose. Father is Jose Pereira and mother is Ana Isabel de Teves. Joseph probably Jose Pereira, (Jan 1860) Marion Pereira( Feb 1866) and Manuel Augustine Pereira (July 10, 1870.) Any help would greatly be appreciated. Also did people who came by whaling ships, did they have passports? Looking for some help to solve a mystery.On my great grandmother's declaration of intention she states she came to the United states from St Michael's Azores to New York under a different name on February 2, 1891 on the vessel OLINDA. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of vessels passenger list. Since she listed her birthdate a year later I am thinking that the date she arrived maybe wrong also. She came under the name Violanti Ferreira. [AZORES-Genealogy] genealogy program
I was searching for genealogy programs as I bought Family Tree Maker but don't care much for and thought about legacy and saw Master genealogist as being a great program. Anyone have any thoughts?
