[AZORES-Genealogy] Help with Translation for Maria
Hi I am looking for help on reading the baptism of Maria from what I can read is parents are Manoel Jose da Silva and Maria Josefa, I know that the year is 1842 and this is based off CCA page. It starts on the page 14 bottom and goes to the next page top right http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/PIC-LJ-RIBEIRAS-B-1841- 1856/PIC-LJ-RIBEIRAS-B-1841-1856_item1/P16.html http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/PIC-LJ-RIBEIRAS-B-1841- 1856/PIC-LJ-RIBEIRAS-B-1841-1856_item1/P17.html I am able to read or what I think I can understand is that she was born in June of 1842 at the village of Santa Barbara dos or of Ribeiras Pico. I see which is what I want to confirm that parents are Manoel Jose da Silva and Maria Josefa. The father parents are Antoino Jose da Sliva and Josefa and I cannot understand the rest. I think that the parents of Maria are Maneol Jose and Maria Josefa. The words after his name are and of his wife (de sua mer). I believe that the godparents (padrinhos) are Jose and Maria, children of Antonio Jorge and his wife Josefa Isabel. I don't find any information about the parents of either Manoel or Maria (paterna or materna). I am still a novice at this so hopefully someone else can give this a try. Bob, The father is just Manuel Jose, no - da Silva it's sua mulher No father's or mother's parents listed, just godparents. Maria daughter of Manuel Jose and his wife Maria Joseffa (moradores no lugar de rua da Ponta Negras na freguesia de Santa Barbara da Ribeiras) this is their address - they are from and live on ???road in the village of Ponta Negras in the freguesia of Santa Barbara of Ribeiras, Pico born 23 June 1842 baptized on the 30th day of this month for Padrinhos (godparents) are Jose and Maria( foi de) ( represented as?) Antonio Jorge and his wife Josefa Isabel.
