in Calheta de Nesquim, Pico

Frank F Avilla( likely Francisco Ferreira de Avila) b. 1871 , as I also
have a Jose Ferreira de Avila b. 1866, Azores residing in Pleasanton

>From *Sao Jorge*:

>From *Santa Maria*:

Ignacio Jose Bairos ( Joe Enos Bairos) b. 1849 Assuncao, Vila do Porto. m.

>From *Sao Miguel:*

John James Amaral b. Mar 1899 in Povacao ( son of Joaquim Amaral b. 1872
Lomba do Cavaleiro and Maria Leite. Joaquim and Maria settled in
Providence, Rhode Island with their 10 children in 1900)

I have 499 people in my file. There are many families whose origin in the
islands is not yet discovered. I have many Silva, Avilla, and Rose families

There were many land sales offers and advertisements in Portuguese
languague newspapers
in the 1880s-1910s for the Pleasanton area.

Many of these families have intermarried over the years.
