You typed somewhere about the 1700s. Sao Miguel passaportes do not go back to the 1700s. Unless you made a typo. You should probably start a new thread, title it with her name, approximate year of birth, and Sao Miguel island. In the body put what research you have done on her in the U.S. Maybe

Paul, Knowing someone was from somewhere on Sao Miguel (70 or so churches, although a few less churches in the 1770s) is like knowing someone is from the United States and you don't know which of the 50 states to look in. And you can't use Ancestry to search either, as the CCA isn't set up like
