Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] RECORDS FROM RIBERIO GRANDE
I would guess the upper range, $15-$20 euros. Luiza Smith is going to the Civil Registry and will post what fees she paid. Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] RECORDS FROM RIBERIO GRANDE
Thank you Cheri, Looks like I need to go old school. When I look up requesting civil records, several sites give different cost for records. $ 6.00 to $ 18.00. Does anyone know for sure what the cost is per record Bill -Original Message- From: Cheri Mello To: Azores Genealogy Sent: Thu, Jul 12, 2018 5:54 am Subject: Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] RECORDS FROM RIBERIO GRANDE Bill C, I made a post a day or so ago. The archives in Ponta Delgada is out of room. They hold the council of Ponta Delgada up to 1912. The other councils are up to 1905 only. Those other councils are Lagoa, Vila Franca do Campo, Povoacao, Nordeste, and Ribeira Grande. So no more books are being shifted from the Civil Registries to the archive. I don't know what will happen when the Civil Registries run out of room. The Civil Registries don't like people to do searches. I believe you have to write them with the date you want. I have a baptismal record for my grandmother b 1889, but the month and date is completely wrong vs her nationalization records and her death cert. Oct vs April, But the names all match. I would really like to confirm what I have is correct. I am thinking her marr cert and the children's birth certs will give parents and grandparents so I can confirm.
