Incidentally, this is one (the only?) benefit of the BBC using Real Player - trying to drag this thread back on-topic. Real includes some nifty bandwidth-sensing, and the same stream can serve anything from 8k to 800k. The BBC's are configured this way; also our only native Real streams

The BBC's detecting of my bandwidth has been annoying me recently. It seems to think that I am on narrowband, and doesn't give me the option to go for something better (although it is possible to get around it, so that I can at least watch things at a size that is viewable). I should point
