Definately give Ubuntu a try. As Carl mentioned, it's basically Debian but with a quicker release cycle. I used to sware by Debian, but I'm quickly changing my tune. I'm running both a Ubuntu Desktop at home and a remote server and haven't had any issues. The fact that it has more up-to-date pac

Well, thanks for the reply. The command I allow is nice\ -n\ 19\ sudo\ /usr/bin/rsync\ --server* (notice the splat) because the command line changes depending on what arguments are passed. The actual command is really, really long. I'd prefer to restrict the user to only running rsync, but I ha

I am not sure if anyone has tried using backuppc on a file system like this. I have 200GB of data roughly 10,000,000 files.  Backup has no problem but it's taking too long. It takes about 20 mins to just receive the file list, after that the HD goes crazy for about 90 mins regardless how many files
