I'm wondering if anyone else has seen. I setup a test to backup an employee's

Les Mikesell commented a few days ago with some excellent suggestions. I'll post them below. I have not implemented them yet, but I plan to.I am having a problem with the "per PC" configuration in backuppc. The documentation seems to start off well with regards to client setup, but then gets rea
How can this be used to backup Windows XP/2000/NT with the bootloader being
hidden in the MBR?
Does this software support booting the client you want to backup/restore over
a network?

I was able to get my IPCop server backed up with the following config.pl in the hosts' directory:
$Conf{XferMethod} = 'tar';
$Conf{TarClientCmd} = '$sshPath -q -x -n -l root -p 222 $host'
. ' /usr/bin/env LC_ALL=C $tarPath -c -v -f - -C $shareName+'
. '
Hi there all
I was trying to run an archive of my 2 servers that BackupPC backs up -
Localhost (Server1) + Server2 - The GZIP archive ran for exactly 1200.0 min,
then BackupPC reported an error message and aborted - "aborted by
signal=ALRM"

I'm mentioning this because it took me a little bit to figure out since
the BackupPC .z files are in a raw libz format that is not recognized by
file / gzip / etc. but the solution is very simple. The procedure is
exactly the same as using BackupPC_zcat to extract files on the command
line.

Hi Folks
I can backup my Windows PC with SMB
I can backup my Linux PC with rsync
Only I fail to backup my IPCop (Linux Firewall) with ssh on port 222
While testing with "ssh -p 222 [EMAIL PROTECTED]" I connect without any errors.
While testing with: su backuppc
__INSTALLDIR__/bin/BackupPC_d
