Hi Jan,

Forging a pool by hand from a set of files is not likely feasible. There 
are at least two ways that could work for you though.

You could use BackupPC 3 and a script to seed the pool with local files, 
making sure that the path matches that of the host to be backed up:

See the thread "Migrate local data into BackupPC pool for remote client" 
from earlier this year.

Or, you can use BackupPC 4 (with rsync) and backup the local storage 
first. It will match any remote files that were already backed up from 
the local storage.
