Hi. I'm running BackupPC 3.1.0 for about 3 years now and love it. It
just works.
I go into the Web admin UI once a week or so and check the host
summary to make sure backups are chugging along.
Is it possible for BackupPC to email me that summary?
I looked at /usr/bin/BackupPC_sendEmail but
Hi. Thanks Les and Holger for your replies re my issue with full backup
not completing and ssh process going defunct.
I tried the SSH option ServerKeepAlive but now the backup is running
indefinitely. lsof shows me the rsync (on the backuppc client) was on
the same little file for hours and
I just noticed one of my servers has not had a successful full backup
for over 60 days. Incremental backups still succeed.
Full backups fail after 2-4 hours with:
Got fatal error during xfer (Child exited prematurely)

I've got rsync 3.0.3 (protocol version 30) on both ends.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Hi. I have one server that I want the full back to run only on the
weekend, as it's too intensive to run during regular business hours

Hi. I use rsync as my transfer mechanism.
I am considering upgrading rsync from 2.6.9 to 3.x, as I am unable to
run a full backup with rsync 2.6.9 -- memory utilization's out the
roof (lots of files to transfer) and the server slows to an unusable
crawl.
rsync 3.x has this fixed any reason
Thanks, all. I'll try audit2allow or a more recent distro.
I appreciate your help,
