Maybe I shouldn't chime in, because I've only been half following this
thread, but I can't help wondering if you've looked into all the
firewall/timeout possibilities? Sometimes those settings get hosed during
an upgrade too.

I recently installed a few opensuse 10.2 workstations in my
Full backups seem to work every time. Incrementals are now consistently
aborting by signal PIPE. I upped the logging level to 9 and looked at
the transer log after the most recent attempt. I still can't really
decifer what's happening. Can someone more knowledgeable tell me what
this means?
I am sorry. I should have mentioned that I did that already. (A long
time ago, as per someone on this lists suggestion.)

machine to the latest version of Fedora Core and BackupPC. I'm over 80%
disk utilization right now. I'm using a 120 Gig HD right now to back up a
