i'm making an 'administration tool' and i would like to allow user to
select which files to backup, is it possible to list remote files ? ( i can
auth and send commands to the file daemon but i don't see commands which
return a list of files)

Is there anything in your spool dir ? (please run a ls -l)
Could you please try to run bacula-sd with this command :
bacula-sd -c /etc/bacula/bacula-sd.conf -d100 -f
then send us the output (I'm not interested in anything before you
change of DVD).
