I'm not up to date on this point, but IIRC there had been some
discussion on whether to continue providing the Python API in Bacula,
due to lack of maintainership a while ago. It might not be wise to rely
on Python in Bacula for your project.

Last evening, a few of my client backups failed with the above
"subject" error message. The backups have been running successfully
for more than a year and I haven't changed any configuration files
etc.
Any idea what the reason is behind the errors?

backups, and I don't know if its normal, but bacula just write one job
per DVD and the DVD still has a lot of free space.

In the next 2-3 years the amount of data will be growing to 300+ TB.

I think, I do not have a problem in my configuration.
I can load tapes into drive two with the mtx-script.
The parameters, which are send the mount-command to the mtx-script
imply ever the /dev/nst0 and the drive-index 0.
And bacule works fine with the first drive.
My autochanger config:
