backup successfully but when I attempt to restore data onto the 32bit
Windows 2003 file daemon the bacula service terminates on the 2003 server
and the restore job fails. I can choose a Linux file daemon as the target

Any help greatly appreciated.

HI there,
do you have the AutomaticMount = yes;

bacula-sd.conf file?

Hi,
I am experimenting to see whether bacula would be a good system for
me to
backup our department's servers. I am running bacula director
it for a
coupla months.
Bacula is a Great program.
I have to say that as a user of many open source applications, that the
documentation and support for bacula is up there with the best.. Stellar.
I'm sure I'll have more questions as time goes on.
Thanks.

All,
I finally figured out where my config was wrong,
my Tape pool didn't have the media type [edit: should be Storage]

Can you tell me *exactly* where the Media Type was not defined. It

LabelMedia = yes; # lets Bacula label unlabeled media
Random Access = Yes;
AutomaticMount = yes; # when device opened, read it
RemovableMedia = no;

Hi,
I've a little problem with deleted jobs. When i use cancel command, the
job is 'marked as canceled' but the problem is that the storage daemon
stays waiting for a volume and blocks other jobs, is there a mean to
'unblock' the storage deamon when a job is canceled ?
thx.

If neither of these works, try http://www.aclu.org and search for echelon.

Hi Fred,

The 'problem' with estimate is that it lists files in a fileset (you can
get an idea how many files will be backed up)
I would like to list all files on the filedaemon's host in order to create

/client to a different device? Will it create
the pools/volumes under each device, or will it get confused? I'm not
sure if the pools are more of a 'virtual defintion' of how to create
volumes that you can apply anywhere, or if they are tied more closely to
an instance.
Thanks in advance.
