Bacula stopped creating new volumes. I can create them manually and jobs run after that, but trying to figure out why they are not auto created any longer. There were 7 volumes auto created before I had to manually create the last two.. Any ideas what to look for? I have the following

Just setup bacula on a new Ubuntu install. Local backups work fine, but a new server 2003 client cannot connect to the sd. I can telnet to the bacula box from the client on ports 9101, and 9103, check status of client, and estimate files, but cannot get backups to work. Backups is being done

I just installed v5 and it went without a hitch. However I am getting no appendable volume errors when attempting to do backups, even though I have run the label command and bacula says the volume was successfully mounted. I dropped the database and started over, but still get the same error.

Are you sure its not listining on 127.0.0.1? Ubuntu default (overly protective) configuration files make bacula a one machine backup system but removing 127.0.0.1 and localhost from them and replacing this with the external ip address fixes the issue. John I replaced all instances of

Bacula cannot connect to local-fd on port 9102. With bacula started I can telnet to port 9101 and 9103, but not 9102. I have turned firewalling off, but it does not help. This is on a Knoppix box that I uninstalled the bacula client from and did a full install of Bacula using bianaries. Raymond

If port 9102 is being used by something else, you can run the FD on a different port. You can use the --with-baseport= option in the configure script when installing Bacula. So if =8100, the DIR will run on 8101, FD on 8102, and SD on 8103. Otherwise, you can edit your *.conf
