Another option is Logical Volume Manager (LVM) which allows you to
create and manage large multi-disk/partition volumes.

I have three 225GB drives for a total storage of 675GB on one logical
partition... which I can just add more drive space if necessary.
With some help... you need some funny scripting for this to work, or
you need to wait. This is one of the features that are on Kerns
