Only if you do not plan to use them again.
Volumes which are Purged exist in the database, but have no other records
associated with them.

Hello,
I'm administrating an heterogeneous hosting platform and we have all
kinds of servers which we backup on 2 different storages using one
director.
One storage is running great but the second one is giving me problems
when I try to re-use volumes (which is the plan, of course)

sorry for my late response.

This system has had a history of problems, particularly scsi problems.
Unfortunately, I'd suspect that this is the real source of your problems.
Until you have a stable SCSI bus, anything sent down it is suspect. I
wouldn't even be sure the data got written to tape.

Yes the SCSI card is an Adaptec (I replaced it today with a QSI Logic to

The OS is FreeBSD 7.0-p6 (32 bits) with the ahc driver.

Julien, hi Pasi,
it looks like we have similar problems. But to be honest I have no real

I will just give you some details about our setup so maybe we can find
similarities.

Hello,
To *back up* data you do *not* need to decrypt it, you should back up
the raw encrypted data as it is (and, of course, to take care to back
up your encryption keys - but separately!).
It is probably a design fault in Bacula currently, not an intentional
design decision.
