Hi! Just wanted to let you know that I came across the exact same error Error writing final EOF to tape. This Volume may not be readable. a couple of times with 2.4.2 using a Quantum DLT VS1 drive connected to Adaptec 29160LP. I don't think that the tape is really defective as bacula states. I

If it's VMWare server, that wouldn't necessarily work - a snapshot opens a new file which stores a binary delta of all changes since the snapshot was taken and this file is being constantly written to. Backing it up without taking account of this causes all sorts of fun. I'm doing something

Hello, sorry for my late response. I just finished migrating the catalog to a Postgre 8.1 Server and enabled spooling. Spooling space is 100GB, the horror directory only 70GB. I hope that both changes will give us a speed bump, well the Postgre should increase the performance and the spool dir

This system has had a history of problems, particularly scsi problems. Unfortunately, I'd suspect that this is the real source of your problems. Until you have a stable SCSI bus, anything sent down it is suspect. I wouldn't even be sure the data got written to tape. Jeff who's fighting loader

Anyone have any tips on keeping the Bacula MySQL database to a manageable size, I'm fighting with a 36gb database right now and followed the info in the handbook to dump it and re-import it but it didn't really save any space, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions. thanks.

Yes the SCSI card is an Adaptec (I replaced it today with a QSI Logic to see if I have better results). The OS is FreeBSD 7.0-p6 (32 bits) with the ahc driver. What's strange is that I can write many jobs without any problems, but then it suddenly fails, always with the same error (Error writing
