 Hey guys,

We have been using Bacula for some time now and I wanted to
automate a few things and allow the clients to take control of their
backups. We want to give our clients the option of buying backup
space and creating/editing backup schedules of their data and their
databases. We're hoping to automate this as well as allow the clients
to have access to their backup files with the option of restoring a file
(or multiple) all via our PHP based portal.

Please let me know if anybody has worked with this in the past and if
they are willing to help. We can work out compensation as well if you
 have a solution.

Simular requests have been posted to the bacula-users mailinglist before.

I would really appreciate your help and feedback on this matter.

Usually there isn't any follow up _here_.

I guess such requests get more response on the bacula-developers M.L.
Check it yourself, I'm not subscribed to -devel.

 Thank you!

I’ve gotsome errors reported in Windows Events :

just 10 minutes while it took 2h earlier.

This had been the benefit of using InnoDB over MyISAM. However, at 12GB
RAM and 8900 File entries (12GB file on disk) it became slow again
and I took the step to convert to PostgreSQL.
While I only gave 8GB of memory to PostgreSQL it is quite a bit faster
so far. A full backup that took 1day 1 month ago with less entries in the
database was up to 3 days on MySQL this month. With PostgreSQL it had
been down to 1day again.
The hardware is the same system with 16GB RAM it has been before, serving
as an iSCSI-storage for enhancing the bacula-sd residing on some other
box the same time. The import read the dump at a constant 2MB/s whicht I
regarded somewhat slow, but I think the 'constant' is the important part
here. I did the migration with Bacula manual and

Just to throw in some numbers that might help others.

Add trace=1 to the setdebug command and look for the bacula-fd.trace file in

I did some research, and found two things:

 1. There are other one-file jobs that span across volumens, and they
restore without problems. So crossing volumens is not a problem here.
 2. I found other (three) jobs with problems. All of them behave in the
same way as one decribed earlier. They differ from working job by having
 EndBlock set to 0 (zero).

Hmm, it looks like that might be the problem. I had assumed that EndBlock=0
was normal, but it might not be.

The trace output didn't show the filename to restore, so that suggests that
the bacula-fd didn't see data from the first volume, hence it didn't create
the file.

What to the JobMedia entries look like for working jobs span across volumes?

Can someone please point me out where I should start to investigate this
 problem?

From the internet, I can reach the director and the SD @ the 'leiden'
 system.
I can reach the FD's at all servers which are to be backed up.
the command status client=xxx in bconsole returns everything correctly ?

Hi Pietro,

Sorry for the late reply, since I've been on a holiday.
Nothing has changed, and the problem can still be reproduced:

So the director seems to be able to connect to the file daemon, am I
correct?

Re: [Bacula-users] Exchange Plugin Restore

2011-08-11 Thread James Harper

The root job says All File records purged. I know a full restore
brought
back all files, except for the Exchange ones.

We are restoring to a newly rebuilt machine so is there anything we
should be
 concerned about (settings, etc)?

Do you mean the job was purged and the rescanned?
