Actually ANY menu selection throws me to the login. Bummer. Maybe the guessed
credentials are bad, but it somehow still shows me the main page. If so, that
must be a BUG.

I just installed this. I installed php7.0 to this ”backup” vm as I was in the
impression that is it required from some earlier check. Appears that this is
not true any more, and the Centos 7 original php would have sufficed I guess.
But now it is running on php 7.0.

I managed to get into it, as it now asks for a login. I could not find the
needed credentials from code nor documentation, but managed to guess the
correct ones.

There is now a user settings menu option, and I clicked it as I want to change
my credentials. But when I click it, it returns to the login screen!

What now?

Re: [Bacula-users] Bacula h/w write fails, but tar writes w/out error?

2018-06-07 Thread Martin Simmons
Check the syslog and system console for error messages about the tape device
(since Bacula saw Input/output error, that usually means some error on the
device).

About the only thing I can think of is that if you have not purged the
media for the jobs, you could bscan the relevant volumes back in; or you
could restore an older version of the Bacula database from before you
pruned them (but you would lose newer jobs run since that backup).

[Bacula-users] unprune already pruned files

2018-06-07 Thread Elam
hi,

Is there any way that we can unprune files which are already "pruned" from
the database.
If so, could you please provide the detail steps?

thanks in advance for your help.

If it is all tapes, is the issue with the tape drive?

[Bacula-users] stuck on upgrading from 7.0.5 to 9.0.6

2018-06-07 Thread Jonathan Horne
Hi all, i am stuck with a tricky migration/upgrade scenario.

my source system is a CentOS 6.8 with bacula 7.0.5. its been in production for
a few years and has never given me one bit of trouble.

my new server is a ubuntu 18 with bacula 9.0.6. my intention is to take the
/opt/backups file system off the old server and attach it to same mount
location on new server, and hopefully pick up where the old server left off
with all the existing backup media. i have imported the database that was
dumped from the old server, but i am stuck on the update_postgresql_tables
script. here is the output i get:

postgres@bkp01:~$ sh /usr/share/bacula-director/update_postgresql_tables

This script will update a Bacula PostgreSQL database from version 12-15 to 16

Depending on the current version of your catalog,
you may have to run this script multiple times.

ERROR: relation "version" does not exist
LINE 1: select VersionId from Version LIMIT 1
  ^

Unable to detect database version, you can specify connection information
on the command line.
Error. Cannot upgrade this database.

i am not a database expert, so if someone could point me in the right direction
i would appreciate the assist. or if there is a better way to get from
Cent68/bacula705 to ubuntu18/bacula906, i am making this crazy leap (from OS to
OS) because newer rpms/repositories for CentOS 6 seemed to have run dry.

thank you kindly,
Jonathan Horne

Re: [Bacula-users] Bacula h/w write fails, but tar writes w/out error?

2018-06-07 Thread Stieneke, Dan
The job ate through 4 tapes, with only 2 - 60GB on each tape. Then it hit
recycle limits and was asking for more media.

These are used tapes, but I can't see 4 consecutive tapes going bad at the same
time.

Incidentally, this is the same behavior I saw 4 months ago, and at that time I
did test bacula to a brand-new tape, which also failed quickly.

Thanks,
Dan

about a cable, and when I replaced it everything returned to normal, until now,
when I'm getting the same kinds of errors.

Tar works on the same drive, but what about on the same tape? How do you know
you are not seeing bad tapes?

The relevant part of "messages" is:
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
05-Jun 09:17 xxx-sd JobId 794: Error: block.c:577 Write error at 12:60511 on

ERR=Input/output error.

0" command.
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

As you can see, it had an error after about 64GB (of an 800GB native / 1600GB
compressed tape).

I've cleaned the drive. And again, backups made with tar record without error
and restore without error.
Any ideas?
