Hi,
I'm trying to find a way to pass the client name to the run_before
script, but I can't see a way to actually make it work. Apparently,
variable expansion is not available for the Run Before Job?
In my JobDef, I have the line:

Good afternoon
I have a setup of Bacula on a Linux Director. This backs up several
Linux servers, a handful of Windows servers and some desktops.
I am having problems excluding directories from a backup of a client.
For example: I back up a windows box with the below fileset:

Hi
Yes, the script I made works correctly. It dumps the database to a file
/tmp/fifofile.
What I want to do is to backup MySQL database using bacula and fifo. I know
that is easy to dump first the database to a file and then backup that file
(I've tried this way and it works correctly), but I
Ok

backing up to a virtual device, isn't it? So I have to define a Job with
RunBeforeJob option and a FileSet with readfifo=yes and as Device I can
define a file device so the backup is made in a file.
Supposing I'm right, I've

Hi
I'm trying to backup MySQL database using bacula and a FifoStorage. First I
configure a script named backwithfifo which dumps the database.
#!/bin/sh

exec /dev/null
SCRIPTDIR=/usr/bin
mkfifo /tmp/tmpfifo
cd $SCRIPTDIR
./mysqldump -h localhost -u root -pclipper iesa /tmp/tmpfifo

Thank you very much! It almost works. Turns out that what I actually
need isn't the client name as I had thought, but the address of the
client (the DNS name). More accurately, what I really need is the name
under which the client is known to Nagios - which fortunately I can
easily derive from

hmmm, good day all, my catalog backup last night failed with this error:

So the fix to my entire issue was to restart the bacula services.
What can i do next time to help find out why this happened so i can give
more helpful information as to why this may have happened?

Try
dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/nst0 bs=1M count=1000
Tried it.
