The manual tells nothing about which resource takes precedence; or
at least I cannot find it.

Hello to all. I have installed bacula 5.0.2. The director, the storage and a
client estan in a machine. The servant myql this one in other one machinates.
When I try to connect bconsole it does not start.
To create the database in mysql I have done:
./create_bacula_database -D bacula -u
I have bacula set up to create formatted labels which include the
client name and job name, such that a typical label will look like:
Daily-tux2-fd-2010_05_20-03_05-Tux2
where tux2 is the name of the client.
I also set Max Volume Jobs = 1 for each volume, so it is only ever

Hello,
We're planning to upgrade our bacula installation from version 2.4 to version 5.
We have many 2.4 clients backing up twice to 2 bacula servers so I'm

This would let us do the upgrade at a relative calm pace, while

Did you do this part?
If this file exists, and the director is not running, then the
startup script thinks that it _is_ running.
If the director is _not_ running, you can safely remove that file
and try again.

Hello,
I have the following RegexDir option in one of my filesets
RegexDir = ^E:/staff/((?!(staff))|staff[n-z])
To clarify (hopefully), this statement matches anything which starts
E:/staff/staffn* through E:/staff/staffz*; AND anything which starts
E:/staff/ but does not next contain the word
Hi,
Since upgrading to Bacula 5.0.2, BSMPT has not been able to send any
messages via my Exchange server. If I point BSMTP to my ISP's SMTP
server, it all works fine but they don't like me bouncing my alerts off
their servers. Plus I shouldn't need to as I have my own Exchange box.

Hi List,
Its a pretty easy question the one I have.
I was wondering if it is possible to run certain job from command

My interest lies in running the job from outside bacula with a script
or a command.
Thanks!

Yes and you can do much more than that. bconsole is very scriptable.

No. 3.0.X clients and above will not work with an older server.
