Thank you Uwe. I misunderstood the concept. Is there a way to have Bacula just continue incremental backup of a drive even if it was offline for one run? Any suggestions warmly welcomed. Hello Olle, I think there's a slight misunderstanding in your concept of fileset changes. According to the docs, fileset changes affect the definition of filesets in the director config file as opposed to *actual* changes in the filesystem's you're backing up. If you're talking about removeable drives and such that are mounted somewhere in the directory, tree, I guess you should be looking at bacula crossing fs boundaries during backups (or not ;-) All the best, Uwe All best, Olle -- uberSVN's rich system and user administration capabilities and model configuration take the hassle out of deploying and managing Subversion and the tools developers use with it. Re: [Bacula-users] Ayuda urgente Primer backup!!!
Translation for everybody :-) It seems that the problem is in a call withing the pre-run script. It's no related to bacula. [Bacula-users] Bacula Course
Hello, I hope you are all enjoying the summer despite the major disruptions of all sorts (uprisings, tsunamis, bizarre weather, financial crisis, ...) we have been seeing in the world recently. We still have a few places available in the Bacula Administration Course to be given the 23-25 August in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland. The only requirement for this course is that you have reasonable system administrator skills on Linux. If you would like to learn more about the course, please go to: www.baculasystems.com - Training Course Schedule If you are with a company, I offer you a 15% discount for one person and more for two. If you are a community member (not being paid by a company to come to the course), I can offer you a *very* substantial price reduction as our way of giving back to the community. There are, however, a limited number of community places available in each course we give. If you are interested, please send me an email directly, rather than register on the web site, and I will ensure you can get into the class at a discount. This course was originally intended for beginners, but over the years we have been giving it, we have realized that quite a number of experienced Bacula users have attended the course, and they have all been very satisfied. By the way, I will either be teaching the course myself, or at a minimum, I will invite all the participants to dinner on the 24th. Hope to see you there, Kern -- uberSVN's rich system and user administration capabilities and model configuration take the hassle out of deploying and managing Subversion and the tools developers use with it. Re: [Bacula-users] Possible bug in database update code
On Tue, 9 Aug 2011 12:02:18 +0200, Frank Altpeter said: Hi there, It's possible that I just hit a bug with the routines that are updating the catalog database. Following prerequisites: Server OS: SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (x86_64) Bacula Version: 5.0.3 MySQL Version: 5.0.67 Catalog Database size: 49G The configuration states to do incremental backup daily except sunday night where the full backup is running. Full backup is done from client to disk via vchanger. After all full backups are done, monday afternoon a copy job is being run which brings the full backups from vchanger to an LTO-4 tape changer. Usually this setting is running fine. Today (tuesday) one of my clients is doing a full backup, where it should run incremental. Looking in the log it says Prior failed job found in catalog. Upgrading to Full.. I was wondering about that, because I know that the incremental backup from yesterday was running fine. So I checked the database entries for this client. I've put the output of select JobId,PriorJobId,Job,Type,Level,JobStatus,SchedTime,StartTime,EndTime,RealEndTime from Job where Name like 'host.customer.com%' order by JobId; into http://pastebin.com/4CVHzqaD for review. The interesting line are the ones with JobId 113187 and 112500. I don't know why these two jobs have identical values for StartTime and EndTime. I think that some catalog update routine was going wrong here because it was confused by the running copy job. I see that database entry as reason that the incremental job of today thinks that the last job failed. The identical values for StartTime and EndTime are normal for copy jobs, so there is probably a bug in the code that finds the prior failed job. The copy job 113295 was still running at 2011-08-09 00:42:01 (when 113450 found the prior failed job) so I suspect it found that copy job instead of the real full job 113026. I suggest you report it at bugs.bacula.org, with the full logs and the pastebin contents. __Martin -- uberSVN's rich system and user administration capabilities and model configuration take the hassle out of deploying and managing Subversion and the tools developers use with it. Re: [Bacula-users] Virtual diff instead of full
Hi! Is there anyone out there that has seen this problem or have any idea of what it could be? I have rewritten all the configparts related to this job, I have copied and pasted from other configfiles that works and as you can see from earlier postings it selcts the correct files needed to do the job but then it just ignores the fullbackup and starts reading from the diffbackup and if I let it do the job it finishes happy, says that it worked fine but the size is that of a diffbackup. There is a problem with restoring from incremental backups, but your problem looks different and I haven't seen it before. Can you send me the output of 'list files' from the backup job?
