Re: [Bacula-users] problem drive bacula

2016-07-22 Thread Clark, Patti
Nirvana,

The tapes will rewind whenever they are ejected from the drive. Bacula will
manage the tapes as needed. Auto-rewinding is unnecessary with modern backup
software management particularly with an autochanger.

Thank you for responding Patti.

I was reading about udev, but I say that the fastest way is to use the long
form, in my case is / dev / changer but as you say it put me not to rewind the
tape?

Se necesitan reglas de udev para establcer una asignacion de dispositivo
estatico. Google para el dispositivo estatica udev.

Re: [Bacula-users] problem drive bacula

2016-07-22 Thread Clark, Patti
You need to read up on udev. I have posted several times on this list
regarding the commands and configuration using udev rules. Search the list for
the information. Otherwise, use the long path /dev/tape/by-path/… which is an
ugly reference but is stable on reboots. Use the “nst#” reference – it means
no rewind, otherwise your tapes will rewind after each use by default.

[Bacula-users] Bacula Webmin module will not start

2016-07-22 Thread SteveHodge
I am wanting to administer Bacula through Webmin. I have a working
installation, but need to expand a bit, and being able to use Webmin would help
a lot
I cannot get the Webmin module to start. It just says 'Failed to load the
database DBI driver SQLite at ./bacula-backup-lib.pl line 45. Maybe it is not
set up, or the module configuration is incorrect.'. the same thing happens when
I specify MySQL or PostGreSQL, although I think Bacula is using SQLite.
I have checked that the perl module DBI is installed, and indeed deleted and
re-installed it. It shows up in the Webmin Perl module, albeit not in bold like
the rest of the modules
Has anyone seen this problem and has a solution
I have a feeling that I may have to set up the database again and then
uninstall and reinstall Bacula. Obvously I can save the Config files if I do
this, but does this mean I will lose the existing database and the six months
of back-ups it references

I have reported this bug to the fedora bugzilla (#1182722) Jan. 2016
because I use bacula from the fedora repository and it was at some time
suggested by Kern to be a packaging problem. I install this morning
bacula 7.4.2 just to find that the bug was not fixed in this release.

If it is that difficult for the packager to fix it I hope someone from
the bacula team would help him.
