I run make after configuring with:
./configure --enable-client-only --with-dump-email=bacula@localhost
--with-job-email=bacula@localhost --prefix=/opt/bacula
This time I started bacula-fd in gdb and got:
root:/opt/bacula/etc> gdb ../sbin/bacula-fd

I’m trying to find a similar issue. I’m on AIX 7.1. I have built Bacula 9.0.6
from source, fd only, non-static. I’m using gcc rather than xlC. Here’s what I
have:
root:/opt/bacula/sbin> /opt/bacula/sbin/bacula-fd -f -c
/opt/bacula/etc/bacula-fd.conf

My local contact told me 2 weeks ago that he remembered not having any troubles
when manually issuing a daily "mount" command before leaving office.
I've automated it with a "Run Before Job" mount command, all my backups are OK
since.
Well... OK!
