Yes. You can modify the configs without affecting any jobs but they
will not take effect until you issue the reload command or possibly
restart the sd.

For what it's worth, we use the same model and have had no problem with the
expansion slots being recognized. Maybe you just need to power cycle the
unit?
One difference is that we disabled the import/export slot on the changer.

I have tested the raw drive speed with vdump and bs=1024, The drive
speed is around 35MB/s during vdump.
The tape drive is SCSI LVD.I had tried replacing the cable twice.but no
improvement in speed through bacula.
Does a spool file on raid0 increases the despooling speed significantly.
So with LTO it seems to be no problem to use gzip and the drives
hardware compression.
Any thoughts on this?
With software compression on an LTO device your backups will take much
longer unless your client can somehow compress at the rate your tape
drive needs.
