[Bacula-users] How to restore a tape using a different SD
hi.. I am using Bacula to back up all the servers in my office. That’s automated and works fine.. I am using a NAS and an Autoloader. Nightly backups are write to NAS and then to Tape (copy jobs). Now the problem is, I want to restore the backups in a remote server to check whether the backups are perfect . Is it possible? i can just do the restore using bls and bextract but i think if this is possible i have a GUI to use.. and will be fine. hi all,, This is a part of the output of my Tape Library status.. * backup-server01:~ # mtx -f /dev/sg4 status* Storage Changer /dev/sg4:1 Drives, 24 Slots ( 1 Import/Export ) Data Transfer Element 0:Empty Storage Element 1:Full :VolumeTag=W11018L4 Storage Element 2:Empty Storage Element 3:Empty I can load and unload the tapes from storage element to Derive and Drive to slot using the command mtx -f /dev/sg4 [load/unload] [storage Element:(1-24)] [Drives:(0)]. hi all, how can i restore copy jobs on tape? how can i restore copy jobs on tape without catalog database? i am running a copy job every day that copying the night backups on NAS to tape. i want to restore them to another server in a branch office. how its possible without catalog. hi all.. i am writing all the backups to NAS at the movement. i tested copy jobs and it works fine.. whare i could copy the Volumes in the NAS to Tape. my problem is how to create a copy-job that copy the last used volume in a pool to Tape. Hi all Currently all the backups are ( all together 29 servers) write to NAS with 7TB... actually using around 2TB Now i have to setup HP StorageWorks MSL2024 Tape Library with Bacula so every day i can run a copy job to tape after all the backups are done to a volume. i test the copy job scenario and its working fine... but the problem is to setup the tape drive with Bacula. hi.. all Every day, I have more than 375GB to backup. for the movement i do the backups by breaking then into different volumes. ( one volume might have maximum of 150GB of data) below is list volumes out put that you can see.. Now what i am going to do is write all the backups for a day into one single volume so there is going to be 7 volumes and one single volume going to have up to 400GB of data. Is Bacula volumes capable to handle that much of data. or is it good to have small volumes like 150GB Is it ok to have up to 400GB in a bacula volume... on a file storage device.. will it be a problem when restoring the backups..??? [Bacula-users] How to copy Bacula volumes.. from NAS to Tape
Hi.. Bacula.. I have deployed Bacula with 1 tape drive and 1 NAS storage.. This is a little big project with more that 20 clients with 30 jobs per day.. backup of around 250 - 300 GB every day. For the time being all the jobs are schedule to run in the night to tape and we are changing the tape every day..(Except sat,sun) *Now we brought a new NAS storage(7TB) and going to store all the backups in NAS.. but still need to store all the backups also in tape. * *My problem is how to copy all the Bacula volumes to tape after all the jobs are done to NAS.. Is it possible to copy Bacula voluems from NAS to tape.. if it is possible how to do the restoration using the tape..* if my problem is not clear pls let me knw .. pls some one help on this Thanks -- Ridiculously easy VDI. [Bacula-users] how to mount more than one volumes form the same storage at the same time
hi... a...lll i am having a problem to mount 2 or more volumes from the same storage device in bacula. i could mount the tape and one volume from NAS and run concurrent jobs. but when i try to mount tow different volumes from tow different pools in NAS storage i couldn't do it. why it is not possible to mountv2 different volumes from the same pool or from different pools but from the same storage device. when it allows rendam access is possible for file storage devices. if it is possible.. some one tell me how? [Bacula-users] windows could not start bacula file service service on local computer 1067
hi all, i installed bacula client (bacula-win64-5.0.3.exe) to My SQL Server (windows 2008 R2 64 bit) . and installation has completed successfully. But as regular the service Bacula-fd didnt start automatically. and when i tried to start it manually it gives an error saying windows could not start bacula file service service on local computer 1067 Then i tried it through cmd by entering net start Bacula-fd (exact name of the service) it gives an error saying Access Denied Erro no 5 Someone please help me to overcome this..
