2023-07-27 Thread rocky
Hi Heitor,

Thanks for the reply.

Now, I can able to take the backup files on S3 bucket. But, facing issues
while restoring the files.

Getting below error.
Observed Mount issues and permission issues.

Can anyone please help me to resolve this issue?

Thanks,
Ramesh

S3 buckets are completly supported and have decent performance.

Using libfuse or any mounting technique provides much less performance and
reliability due to the extra layers. The Bacula S3 Plugin, available in both
Community and Enterprise versions, is a superior solution on those aspects:

Yes, of course. As long as you have any form of TCP connection with the Bacula
ports (9102 and 9103). You don't even need to use a VPN since Bacula
connections are automatically encrypted since v. 10/11 via PSK.

Yes. A single Director can handle virtually an infinite number of Storage
Daemons.

Don't know.
I only used S3.

I am getting
the  errors while executing the backup job.

What errors?

Can anyone please guide me to resolve it.

Any reason you don't you use the S3 plugin?

Re: [Bacula-users] S3 bucket as Storage & Centralized backup

2023-07-22 Thread rocky
Can anyone please advise on the below queries.

1. Is it fine to configure the S3 bucket as storage in AWS cloud or is it
better to take the backup on local EBS or EFS volumes on bacula master node?

I have mounted the s3 bucket bucket locally on the master and tried to save
the backup files directly on the s3 mount directory. I am getting the
errors while executing the backup job.
Can anyone please guide me to resolve it.

2023-07-20 Thread ben . tyger
Considering there is an S3 storage daemon for bacula for 3 major versions now,
I would assume S3 is usable.

I would probably run a S3 storage daemon in each cloud type so you don't have
to pay high external transfer costs, unless there is a policy that says it has
to be backed up that way.
