Re: [basex-talk] 9.0?
Hi Marco, hi all, Good news: BaseX 9 will be released this month. We have just finished the »persistent jobs« feature: Queries can additionally be registered as persistent jobs, which will be scheduled for evaluation whenever the BaseX server or BaseX HTTP server is started [1]. As already indicated in Github [2], we have postponed the Websockets feature to BaseX 9.1. There are still various competing approaches that we want to sort out first. Let’s see which one will win the trophy. Thanks to those of you who are giving us continuous feedback on our latest snapshots! Re: [basex-talk] 9.0?
Dear Marco, I’d love to give you a final release date for Version 9.0, but it’s too early to do so. XML Prague would have been a great event for the next release, but we simply had too many other things in the past months. As a matter of fact, no one is willing to pay for pure open source development. However, the good news is that I definitely plan to do more Open Source again in 2018. I have already spent lots of efforts to revise the optimization and static typing engine of BaseX. I invite you to use our snapshot during development, and give early feedback whenever you experience unexpected behavior. Hi Christian & team, since XML Prague 18 is approaching I remembered that there used to be this wonderful habit of releasing a new BaseX version for the event :-). I am wondering whether there are any timing plans for the 9.0 release. In particular we are eager to test the new features [1] and [2]. Thank you for any updates on the matter and please continue with your incredible work! Best regards, Marco.
