Hasn't the iWork team been working the last TWO YEARS on the new iWork for the
iPad?

That was one of my first thoughts after the event. I was really hoping
the iPad's OS was going to be capable of running Mac apps natively,
but got disappointed. Well, that and no USB port. Being able to use a
program like BBEdit on the iPad would very much increase the
likeliness of me getting one

text editor.
Nothing like BBEdit, but I have used it in a pinch.
I think this is an existence proof that it could be done really well

with BBEdit for cleaning text so that it can be used in Web pages. Of
course it no longer works on OSX nor with modern versions of BBEdit. I
believe it was based on Grep patterns and searches but am not familiar

BBEdit and a decent SSH shell are my perfect iPad applications to add to what
we saw at the demo.

The X11 feature is labelled coming soon. I wonder. There is some new
Apple-proprietary chip in the thing.
Hi all,
I'm able to workaround the problem by turning off Automatically refresh
documents as they change on disk in Preferences-Application.

Nope, it really doesn't. It doesn't need the pro-level editing stuff, it
doesn't need projects, shell worksheets, disk browser, or text-factories. It
probably doesn't need
