Do you have ssh access to the server?

Cool, Now for BBEdit I mapped f19 to escape (using QuicKeys) and I can
open or dismiss it with very nearly the same keystroke.

I always like to dismiss things that take up screen space when they're
not in use and I'm looking for a way to dismiss the live find toolbar
with a keystroke.
I've long used f18 to bring up the old quick find and it never
mattered if its little window got lost under something else, it was

I've used insta projects but I've forgotten, is there a way to open a
folder as an insta-project without dragging a folder onto BBEdit's
dock icon?

For what it's worth...
I can see where you're coming from and I had issues with the
availability of the search options. My solution (with an aluminum 19
function key keyboard) was to assign within BBEdit F18 as Quick Find,
Shift F18 as Find and Control-Shift F18 as multi-file search.
It's now au
There's a real simple solution - use another keyboard macro program
like QuicKeys or Keyboard Maestro.

OK, since no one answered my question instantly (waaa...) I was forced
to experiment a little more.
It does depend on which type of file you choose in the file-type pop-
up in the lower left hand corner of an editing window. But that
doesn't explain why I get different versions of the palette whe

Nope. That was my first thought too. But that's not the case, I can
have the same (php) file open, sometimes I'll get one ascii window,
the next time I
“Next to the file path display in the editing view toolbar, there
is a little popup menu. Click it to get a menu showing the file’s
path, and choose an item from the menu to reveal it in the Finder.”
This I don't see (or I don't understand the instructions yet).

This is undoubtably a question I should be able to answer myself but
it may be quicker to ask rather than explore.
Sometimes the ascii palette shows up with the escape character shown
as the “$” equivalent and sometimes it shows up with the php
equivalent.
For example tab, sometimes it shows as

I'd really like BBEdit to remember project window settings. I work
with a Powerbook and a 20" Cinema display. I've found a neat trick
where I aligned the two screens just right. The Powerbook is on the
left and if I open the files pane on the left (left of the Projects
pane) I get the two on the P

My system stopped sleeping automatically after the BBEdit update to
9.x.
I wasn't too surprised, I just put the machine to sleep manually
(Command + Option + Eject) if I'm keeping BBEdit running.

Further to this subject...
Would it be possible to make the ftp items added to a project
persistent? I like to make a new collection named ftp and add the ftp
files into it. This separates them nicely from my local environment
and changing their names a bit helps as well.
But if I quit BBEdit th

With QuicKeys it takes about 30 seconds. But I do already have
experience accessing Service Menu items with QuicKeys,

For yearts and years Mac keyboards came with F1 - F4 labeled (in
addition to the F number) Undo, Cut, Copy and Paste. I still set up
