Another idea to consider: Use the Markup -> Preview in BBEdit feature to
view the (rendered! pretty!) Markdown document in the Preview window, while
working on code in a different window, while keeping all the files within
the same project. I do that regularly.

I don't mind about that because it's the actual files that I need. I only
created a bbproject to use as a shortcut for opening a set of files. But
once the duplicates pile up, I'll tidy them up.

Keep in mind that you've got a duplicated project file you'll need to delete

I have a project with many Markdown files, some of which I use for
reference. As such, almost all the times I need two windows open for
BBEdit, one for the "source" file (reference), one for the "target", i.e.
the document I'm currently working on.
I created a project that
