What I like is I opened a 3.5GB file and, although I got the spinning pizza (wouldn't expect anything different), BBEdit opened it right up and let me use quick search without a hiccup. I could even drag the scroll thingy up and down, quickly, with no issues. That's what I like! Ted

Yes, you can do that, BUT that is just extra steps. I am looking to shave steps off my process. The root of the issue is these files are all opened via transmit and the path is an absurdly long temp space and it is a bit of pain to determine which version I am looking at if I have more than 2

Was using textwrangler (now deprecated I believe)) and wanted some of the more advanced features offered by bbedit. Wrt to critical features... The ability to run Python in the terminal and color schemes come to mind, but it mischaracterizes my appreciation. -- This is the BBEdit Talk
