with the wireless-dev tree of 2.6.20-2.6.21-rc6 wpa2 on softmac
stack works - not great rates but works - with a WPA2 connection (ccmp)
on  a fonera.

Only signal strength. If you have enough signal, bcm43xx-mac80211 authenticates 
with WPA-PSK TKIP. 
Although I haven't test it, WPA2 should also work.
