Regarding the previous message. What exactly do they mean? Hardware failure. Software reset?
I have tried another tp-link RTL8188EUS. Another USB port. Upgraded from Debian 10.3 from Debian 9.9. *If another dongle is better please let me know*. One that does not requiring re-inventing the washing mchine.. Ha. Like the RTL8723. Is there a way to set the failure count higher? What is "indicate disassociation'? Is it possible to get the source for the RTL8188EUS drivers to track the source of the messages? Although I see messages from wpa_supplicant, the kernel and.avahi-daemon. t appears the signal quality monitor is not running. Apr 10 15:02:28 beaglebone wpa_supplicant[827]: bgscan simple: *Failed to enable* signal strength monitoring Searching the above I found the problem dating back to 2012. I configured it for* ipv4* dhcp in connmanctl however these messages are logged Apr 10 15:02:29 beaglebone avahi-daemon[830]: New relevant interface wlan0. *IPv6* for mDNS Resets generally start with messages like Apr 10 15:02:15 beaglebone wpa_supplicant[827]: wlan0: Trying to associate with f0:9f:c2:2d:df:2e (SSID='CALnet' freq=2412 MHz) Apr 10 15:02:15 beaglebone wpa_supplicant[827]: Failed to add supported operating classes IE Apr 10 15:02:15 beaglebone connmand[823]: wlan0 {RX} 57276 packets 62381910 bytes Apr 10 15:02:15 beaglebone connmand[823]: wlan0 {TX} 4762 packets 10807836 bytes Apr 10 15:02:15 beaglebone connmand[823]: wlan0 {update} flags 102403 <UP,LOWER_UP> Apr 10 15:02:15 beaglebone kernel: [105389.217058] R8188EU: indicate disassoc This is one reason I got the BBB and the "supported" RTL8188EUS. It looked real nice. If however I have to throw in the towel on this... These resets play havoc when I do internet things like updates, upgrades, git, apt install, etc. I have the time and am willing to work on this.
