Re: [beagleboard] Terminal nor showing current path/ location

2019-02-16 Thread Adrian Godwin
The shell prompt can be customised using the environment variable PS1. I
would guess yours is set to show hostname but anything is possible. See
http://www.gnu.org/software/bash/manual/bashref.html#Controlling-the-Prompt

If you have another system that's showing a prompt that you prefer, you can
finmd out what it's set to with
echo $PS1

Hi
I finally managed to flash my beagle bone with Angstrom (I really think
there is something wrong with the debian image on this site)

My problem is, the terminal does not show the current path or location...
it displays 'sh-4.2#'. How can I make it display normally\?

Thanks for any help.

That old image isn't going to work.

All images can be converted to eMMC flashers by editing one file:

https://elinux.org/Beagleboard:BeagleBoneBlack_Debian#Flashing_eMMC

Grab the 2018-10-07 image.

[beagleboard] BBB undetected by computer (micro-USB, win10)

2019-02-16 Thread Jonas Hjulstad
My BBB Wireless
(https://www.arrow.com/en/products/bbwireless/beagleboardorg) is undetected
on win10, tested with several computers.
I have tried flashing the board with eMMC-image
BBB-eMMC-flasher-debian-7.4-2014-03-26-2gb.img.xz

 (latest
eMMC, https://debian.beagleboard.org/images/)
and SD-card debian image from http://beagleboard.org/latest-images

All flashes was performed using the boards boot-button, i have not tried
nano-configuring bootup.
I am able to connect to the board through wifi using SSH with PuTTy
Multiple micro-SD cables have been used, and multiple USB-ports on two
computers.
Drivers have been reinstalled using "driver-signature" mode bootup on win10.

Is there a way to check the micro-USB port status or reconfigure it using
PuTTy, or any other way i can troubleshoot this issue?

[beagleboard] Re: No USB connection... and no wifi no more

2019-02-16 Thread sderyck
anybody have this figured out.

oddly, I have a board that will act as an SD card normally does and come up
in windows file explorer as a G: drive so it's connecting to the windows
PC. but no response via putty or surfing to the 192.168.7.2 or 192.168.6.2
I've installed the drivers and checked with a different bbblack and a new
bbblue, that part on the PC end is ok
I have not purchased the cable mentioned
I wanted to know if anyone was successful repairing or reconfiguring to
make it work
the board's access point is also, not showing up in wifi searches
regards
DSD

[beagleboard] No micro-USB connection with Beaglebone Black Wireless after eMMC flash Win10

2019-02-16 Thread jonasbhjulstad
I no longer have connection between my Beaglebone through USB, and there is
no detection of the device on the computer (Win10).
I am currently using BBB-eMMC-flasher-debian-7.4-2014-03-26-2gb.img.xz

 (most
recent eMMC-image on https://debian.beagleboard.org/images/), and
have tried the newest SD-card based debian image
on https://beagleboard.org/latest-images

PuTTy SSH-connection through wifi works fine on both images, which makes me
wonder if the micro-USB port is damaged.
Is there any way to check USB-configurations using PuTTy, or any other
methods i can use to test the USB-port?
(Board has been tested on multiple computers)
