Re: [Ankur-core] Re: How to test a new Bengali font?
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Shaheed, Also, FWIW, I have been trying to create a visual test page by derivation from the BanglaTemplate, but am running into difficulties which suggest (to my uninitiated mind) that there are some defects in the substitution tables. If you have time, I'd like to discuss with you (perhaps the mistake is actually on my part?). At this moment, I am pretty busy with my exams. I will take a look at your fonts after the exams are over. I also intend to fix bugs in the newer Mukti fonts and the other fonts in our project. We will release a new version when we are done. I intend to do this by Mid-June. I guess we should be able to include your fonts by that time too. -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Shaheed, for your feedback, and consideration as a new contribution to the Free Bangla Font project. Deepayan, are you the right contact for that? Not really. I am probably an admin, but I have never actually done anything on the website, all the actual work was done by Sayamindu. In fact my own fonts are outdated there. (Now that sourceforge supports subversion, I am planning to start a separate project there for my fonts.) I have recently taken over the maintainer ship of Free Bangla Fonts Project from Sayamindu. I will be happy to add your fonts to our collection. There are a few things which need clarification before I can add the fonts to our project though. I will get in touch with you about those soon. Thanks and regards, BG - -- Baishampayan Ghose b.ghose at gmail.com 1024D/86361B74 BB2C E244 15AD 05C5 523A 90E7 4249 3494 8636 1B74 -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFEY1eOQkk0lIY2G3QRAo56AJsFPU3KZvkaed4nFYFjbPDAypUlcACgsncX Jlnde0/ZY+O9LJCWg6S5qzY= =GcOr -END PGP SIGNATURE- --- Using Tomcat but need to do more? Hi, Thanks for all the replies. I've done some testing, and the basic stuff seems to be working reasonably well. There is a bit more cosmetic tidying up to do, but I'd like to submit what is there at present: ftp://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/Raga-1.5.tgz for your feedback, and consideration as a new contribution to the Free Bangla Font project. Deepayan, are you the right contact for that? FWIW, the design goals for this font are: - To be visually compatible with the Times-like serif fonts, specifically including the Bitstream Vera Serif. - A clean, classical design - Full compliance with the BanglaTemplate, including all glyphs.
