My cute little Hawkeye (we are oringinally from Iowa) is 5 mo old and #58. He is not

her tail is down to the bone on the underside! I

Also, Tugboat (the bad) has recently gotten into the whole
counter-surfing thing. Ate his dad's hamburger bun this afternoon. Any
suggestions here, besides the obvious leave the food out of his reach?

OK, folks, I need a pep talk. Tugboat and Steamboat have gotten pretty
bad about begging, or just lingering around food preparations or snacks.
I know what to do with them, for the most part, and I also know that
aside from fruit and veggies, human food is not a good thing for these
guys. But w
Robin, thanks for reminding us all to check out the Specialty pics. When you
can't be there it is nice to look at photos from Sieger, obedience and draft
as well as the conformation pics.
Thanks again,

family Bridget and Chris leave their Berner community here, and hope they will be
warmly welcomed by the Pittsburgh area Berner community.

Hi,
But there are always two - one in each end of the leash. I am a human being
and I hope I sometimes is a little bit more educated than the dog when it
comes to intellectual thinking. I am the one who can decide not to be a
strength in one end causing my dog a damage.
We are many, also many on t
Hi,
All collars have the potential to injure the dog and so do head halter type
collars. The answer is in teaching your dog to focus on you and let the dog
know what is expected of him. How many times I see people hauling their dog
around with the dog gagging and the human straining on the other en
Hi Daisy,
Any attention you are giving him is a reward! Your best bet is to turn away
from him and ignore him and reward with attention and treats when he is
quiet.

Well written and sensible post by Esther. Of course there are BMDCA
member-breeders whose standards are different from each other, and even some
whose standards seem to be lacking but the BMDCA is not an organization of
puppy mills by any stretch of the imagination. It is an organization filled

Thus far, I refused to involve myself in these online

Same applies in S Africa except that it is KUSA (our official Kennel Club)

However, they are not unknown in private training clubs!

Radha,
You ask some very good questions, and I'd have to do a great deal of
research in order to give you specifics. But I'll try to cover most of
them with the general information that I've followed over the years.

I am very new to the world of bernese mountain dogs

researching berners I did not know anything about

about this could answer questions that many some
