Hi Mark. HEAR! HEAR! We have been extremely interested in BMDs since
seeing them and falling in love with them at a dog show last summer (where
we went to check out another breed). We visited several BMD breeders,
ordered books, and did tons of research on these beautiful dogs. We, too,
share the sentiment that interested parties are sometimes made to feel that
they are being policed and scrutinized far too much. We, too, wonder why
some people are sometimes so intimidating to new people, in their questions,
requirements, contracts, etc. While we understand that breeders want the
best for their puppies, and the breed, that doesn't mean that everyone else
that expresses interest has a different agenda. How do you get started with
the breed if everyone makes it next to impossible? We met some awesome
breeders in our quest, but we also know that there are some people out there
who seem to want to have a monopoly on the breed. We have gotten so
discouraged by the comments on this list, we rarely read it anymore. Why
question everyone's motive? Why be so judgemental? What is that
saying..."Innocent until proven guilty"????? Everyone on the list professes
their love for berners.....does that mean that others can't love them, too,
and want the best for them??? We still don't have a berner, but we sure do
still love them, and hope to have one one day. Thanks for saying it, Mark!!
