Hi Everybody,
I've heard some of you talk about buying new vehicles to transport your beloved BMD's.
Well, after the discussion of the IF I just wanted to let you know what my husband
and I decided. We'll move (is there no thinking rationally when you want a BMD)!
We were kind of thinking

Nancy,
When I lived in a development I used IF on my Mel who was attacked by a

Regarding invisible fencing. I do not have one, I have a physical
fence. I have almost 3 acres fenced - yes it is expensive and there is
maintenance, but I have piece of mind. Friends visit often bringing
their dogs over for a run off leach in a large, safe, fenced area. They

Following is another reason I do not like invisible fencing. Others have

I have never used an invisible fence but our Tory who came to us at 4
1/2 years old (she is now 8 1/2)was trained on an ivisible fence as a
puppy. I doubt if she even wore the collar for more than a few months,
but she did respect it and she is a very pain insensitive girl.

Hi Susan,
I don't like the idea of negative reinforcement which a jolt in the neck
is.
It doesn't fit my style of training and I will not sell to someone who
relies on this type of fencing.

Susan,
Safety of the dog, intruders, and the dog's owner's liability are good
reasons for having physical barrier vs invisible fencing. However, I have
to admit, as a dog breeder, I also want dogs I breed ideally to have safe,
free time outside to be a dog without someone constantl
Hi Susan and all,
I prefer not to place puppies in homes with invisible fences -
because it is a system that fails to offer the puppy any protection from
other dogs, kids, etc. that may enter the property and cause harm.
We got along just fine with our invisible fence

Hi All,
I'm throwing this out to you all in hopes that can help me. I am a PPO and have been
contacting breeders. The last 3 that I spoke with, when they found out we have an
invisible fence, in lieu of a "regular" fence, politely informed me that they would

I had a friend that owned an escapee Beagle. He went
through the invisible fencing several times and one
day never came back. Very sad.

It worked reliably with my Dane & Sheltie, but my Samoyed never minded it
all that well. She had a lot of fur (like a Berner) and was very stubborn,

My backyard has a multi fencing system that has always worked well for us --
there's a new chainlink dog yard (40x70') which I love, and the perimeter of
the greater than 1 acre yard is fenced with picket fence along the road
