I am seeking your help in with regards a bes requirement. In  my company they 
want to restrict blackberry users from browsing to all websites except google 
and msn , and in the same time they want to have access to all intranet 
website..

I have bes 5 SP1. I tried following the steps in the below kb but everything is 
getting prohibited. :(

[Bes-admins] IIS Components and BES

Can anyone tell me if the full IIS components are required when
installed a Blackberry Enterprise Server in an Exchange 2003
environment, or is it just certain components. We are looking to use a
scripted install.

They are not; just certain ones.

 

The installation manual tells you what needs to be in place.

Hello Art,thank you for your email.I used google as an example, actually we want to allow google maps as it uses the internet connection via the MDS to the internet thought googles website, and there is another website we want to grant access
 to.i was able to configure on BES 4.1.6 but not in BES 5, i think itbecauseof the pull patterns.i

Ok thanks very much. The only reason I ask is because someone from our
group has a script that automates the installation, and I prefer to do
it manually as I know not all components are required. I will check the
manual :)
