I would not recommend following the path you're taking. First and foremost I don't ever recommend applying the default policy to anyone. I recommend making the default policy the most secure / most restrictive policy and then creating new policies for however you choose to implement IT Polic

I have a similar setup. As long as mapi/cdo is at the same or greater version on the BES side, you should be fine. If have a lower version, down load MS ExchangeMapiCdo and install it on the BES. You may have to uninstall the current ESM before you upgrade. Be sure to save your old mapi and cdo
