It's not needed on the Exchange server, but it is required on BES. There is a
compatibility matrix that RIM has, usually there is one supported and one
recommended version. The others are limited support. I've usually not had
issues, but there was one I didn't upgrade, and I ended up with log issues.

Microsoft doesn't keep the old versions though, you can only download the
latest. Also, the install doesn't tell you, but you must uninstall the old
version yourself before installing the new. There is no upgrade routine and it
doesn't uninstall the old version.

Though we are installing AV on our Exchange servers, and needs it loaded there
as well.

Hi Everyone,

Do I still need to concern myself with the version of CDO.DLL and MAPI32.DLL
when using Exchange 2007? I am told by the messaging team this version of
Exchange doesn???t use those dll's any longer. I am wondering which version I
should have on the BES? I am running 5.03 MR4.

Thanks
