i only use 6.3.1 but i've noticed that every say, 5th clear and scan or
so, it will do as described, take forever to scan anything...
i have no patience, so i simply tell it to start again, meaning, clear
and scan, and i simply figured it would fix itself. usually, it does,
np.

No progress yet I am afriad. From the stack trace you posted it looks
like a bug in the flac decoder

I should not get, I guess :-/. I'm running it using java version
1.5.0_05 on Windows XP, and I do have that rectangle. Some option I'd
have to set?

How are you starting Softsqueeze, using Java web start?
