Hi,
Recently we're getting domains running 30-50 simultaneous sessions to browse
our svn history at projects.blender.org.
Like for this:

That's a python script with a quite heavy server load. If so many
@Pablo
You're right. It should be called Duplicate Render Layer. I didn't think
about it this way. I'll change it.
I'll also try to figure out a way to Copy/Paste render layers between scenes
or files. My goal here would be to make it work the same as when we copy/paste
nodes.
Desired behavior
Thank you Campbell for reviewing the code.
I have corrected all issues you pointed out in your review and uploaded latest
version to tracker.
Yesterday I had doubts about handling keycap items, but during my tests I
probably had made some mistakes. I tested everything once again and now in
Thank you Campbell for reviewing updated code.
In your comment in tracker you said:
Hi Bartek, checked the updated script and LGTM. +1 to commit into contrib.
It means that I have one +1
How many plus ones do I need to treat this as: Go ahead, commit? :-)
Is your +1 enough, or I need to wait for
Since its contrib, You can go ahead and commit.
This means it will show up in the 'Testing' section of addons and
won't be distributed with releases, we can still review this for
inclusions in release after.

As a (temporary?) workaround, we could point people to one of these
mirrors on Github and Gitorious:
* https://github.com/nicholasbishop/blender (just trunk)
* https://gitorious.org/blenderprojects/fullblender (all branches)
These have the usual commit-history/source-view/diff-view web tools.
Just wanted to say though I'd like to make it a min. requirement for
blender to support pixel shaders
last I checked I wasn't kickin it with the Rockafellas :)
I also want to echo what campbell said that blender runs very well on sub
$500 systems which btw support pixel shaders.
I also want to
@Bartek
Yes that'd be a nice addition, but I think both options should be provided.
Your approach seems good when copying a couple layers, but sometimes is
needed to copy many (characters, bg, fg, zmasks, and so on).
I think the best way would be to:
- Copy/Paste individual RenderLayer to
I don't know, but I am working on it just now.
Up till now I managed to copy/paste render layers between scenes in the same
file.
I also managed to paste render layer to different file, but without layers and
mask layers.
I have problems with those attributes as they are stored in the buffer
