Ken,
There is an issue with the 32 bit version of 2.56. I was wondering if
you could help me with it.
The bug is
http://projects.blender.org/tracker/?func=detailaid=25463group_id=9atid=498
I have succesfully reproduced it on linux32, but am not able to
reproduce it on linux64 or windows32.
Crap: 32-bit was not build with r788 but r733. I'm rebuilding and will
upload a new copy to download.blender.org/incoming in about 30 minutes.

Sorry to sound so ignorant on my part, but:
I've moved the binaries away already, thanks a lot!
mean that BF has taken the latest builds from the ftp server, BF is taking
it from here, and the builders are free to assume there wont be more
revision changes for 2.56?

Hi,
I'm an optimist :)
But it's also moved to allow you to put a new one there, might it be
needed.

I think you guys are doing an amazing job - but I'm wondering why this
building isn't
handled by an automated buildserver (maybe with some virtual machines
for each of the
targeted platforms)?
The entire process to get these versions out seems very error-prone with
long turn-around times...?
The time and ressources needed for building/maintaining such an
infrastructure is not worth the benefit.
Our current process is much more flexible and proved to work well. :)

Hi all,
Let's freeze svn for a day to prevent confusing situations, and have
release builders work on what they need to get a good binary! Only do
commits related to making the builds please.
SVN needs to be tagged still; but last commit from me was 33942. Tag
will be announced here too.
Ton,
I built r33942 on FreeBSD 8.1 amd64 and it using cmake and it does create
2.56 directory. what if BF's preferred method to package the files for
upload? (last time I simply tar -cjf the contents of build-cmake/bin/ and
uploaded .tbz, is that ok?)
Thanks,
Pete

Hi,
Compression format you can choose freely, based on what FreeBSD users
prefer.
Make sure the binary is stripped, and make a release file name similar
to the others;
blender-2.56-beta-xxx.xxx
We also put in the distro the text files from release/text/
-Ton-
Sorry to bother again, what exactly do you mean by make sure binary is
stripped?

Hi Ton,
Using cmake on 33942 and building with xcode gave me the 2.56 directory in the
app bundle fine.
And the 2.56 directory is also created at runtime in the Application
Support/Blender folder.
Maybe it is an issue with cmake/makefiles ?

Hey guys,
I uploaded a build called blender-2.56-beta-FreeBSD-amd64.tbz to
download.blender.org/incoming but forgot to build it with RELEASE optimized
compiler flags. I just rebuilt with appropriate flags, but now can't
overwrite the bad file I uploaded first. Is there a way I can overwrite
