Just a quick update on Ray's concerns (we already discussed them in IRC): Term 'portable' was replaced by '.zip'. Re hiding of other platforms, the platform is automatically detected. So if you're running 32bit Linux, the big download button should download Blender for 32bit Linux. I'd say there
