Hi dj azo, You're right, the OpenCOLLADA's readme states C++11 is now required. I don't know from which version they require it, though. There was a trick with older version of xcode but I can't make it work with xcode 8 and I'm not sure it would be stable enough for the last 2.7x series.

Dear Platform maintainers 2 days ago Jens Verwiebe has found an issue with building Blender on Linux with Clang. It was due to an error in one of the Collada include files. The issue has already been fixed in a subsequent OpenCollada release. Because of this i propose to update to OpenCollada -
